Patient Story Randy H

What problem/issue were you looking to address that led you to us?

All my life I had no major health issues, so I ate whatever I wanted to. During a doctor’s appointment in December of 2023, I was told that I was pre-diabetic and about 60 lbs. overweight. So, I decided at that time that I needed to lose weight, but I didn’t know where to start. Plus, it would require a large commitment on my part, and it had been easier to eat what I wanted and just buy bigger pants. Talking to my doctor about my goal to lose weight he recommended Dr. Mittal.

How did we help you address your problem?

Dr. Mittal’s plan for me was based around 4 things:

  • Calorie intake by eating a balanced meal: protein, vegetables, fruits, and fiber.
  • Exercise
  • Resistant Training
  • Weight Loss Drug

What was unique about this program for you compared to other times you sought help?

Dr. Mittal and her staff are compassionate about helping people. I am a picky eater and she helped me with foods selections so I could maintain balanced meals, which has been a big reason for my success. I told her in the beginning that I would be her biggest challenge and I’m sure I turned out to be just that. She never gave up on helping me with food selections or working with my insurance.

How has this experience changed your life or health?

For me the experience has been a lifestyle change, which I will stay with even after the program. I estimated that I was consuming 5000+ calories a day, and too much sugar, before I started Dr. Mittal’s program. I now eat balanced portioned meals and exercise. The weight loss drug is not a magic pill, you will need to be committed and do the work to be successful. I have been with the program for 6 months and I have lost 55 lbs. and I’m close to no longer being pre-diabetic. My goal was 60lbs. and I am just 5lbs. away.
